Program Information
Ready to serve and protect? The Police Academy is accepting applications for the Cadet Class of 2027, starting August 2026.
Complete the Police Academy in only 9 months, receive your Act 120, and earn 35 credits towards the associate degree. Prepare to enter the workforce (no additional hours required!) or keep going to earn your Law Enforcement degree.

What Will You Learn
As a Police Academy cadet, you will meet the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission’s (MPOETC) instructional requirements for currently employed officers as well as those seeking employment in police enforcement. The program culminates with students sitting for the ACT 120 Certification Exam.
Careers in Policing
Graduates who successfully complete the exam are eligible to be employed as a municipal police officer.
Upcoming Testing Dates
Applications are now being accepted for the class of 2028. Informational documents will be sent via email in late February 2027 and testing will begin in May 2027. Classes will start August 23, 2027. Contact Director Petures for more information.
