When operating requirements or other needs cannot be met during regular working hours, employees will be given the opportunity to volunteer for overtime work assignments. All overtime work must receive the supervisor's prior authorization. Overtime assignments will be distributed as equitably as practical to all employees qualified to perform the required work.
Overtime compensation is paid to all nonexempt employees in accordance with federal and state wage and hour restrictions.
Employees who work overtime without receiving prior authorization from the supervisor may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination of employment.
Compensatory time is as is provided in the union bargaining agreement and Title 29, Part 553, subpart A of the Code of Federal Regulations.
All non-exempt employees, at the discretion of the affected employee, may elect to take the equivalent number of hours worked as compensatory time off within the same pay period. For every hour worked, the employee will earn one and one half (1 ½) hours of compensatory time.
Compensatory time off is not cumulative and must be taken within the same pay period as defined by CCBC.
All Exempt employees are expected to work at least 37.5 hours per week (and/or the sufficient amount of work hours as is necessary to complete the job duties), 5 days a week and any alterations to this schedule, must have the approval of your supervisor, who will be responsible to inform Human Resources.
