Cupcake Challenge

Prepare for war…cupcake style! Campers will create, bake, and decorate gorgeous cupcakes to enjoy and share. This camp combines learning, fun and culinary skills into five days of adventure. Campers will learn baking techniques, how to use pastry bags and fondant. Join in on this tasty and sweet week. Allergy Notice: The Central Valley Culinary room is NOT an allergy safe environment. Empowering your Superhero

Do you want to: build your self-esteem, be more of a leader than a follower, enhance self-confidence? If so, spend a week learning and discovering more about YOU. By using the D.E.C.I.D.E method (Discover, Embrace, Condition, Include, Determination and Evolve) you will have the opportunity to explore a new YOU. This fun-filled camp consists of daily craft activities, inspirational speakers, group discussions, and so much more.

Junior Ballroom Dancing

Now is a great time to let your child discover the wonderful world of Ballroom Dancing. Each session includes basic ballroom dances with emphasis on Latin and classic ballroom. Your child will learn the basics of partner dancing in a fun and uplifting way. Balance, steps, musicality, posture, body language, eye contact and poise are emphasized. Grab a friend and join in on this fun summer experience. All classes held at Maria School of Dance, 1235 5th Avenue, New Brighton.

Tiny Toes Moves and Grooves

Children learn through play. This Mommy or Daddy and Me class is fun and interactive, promoting basic fine motor and social skills while interacting with other tots. Children will sing, dance, play and move while having the opportunity to develop friendships along the way. When registering, please indicate parent information rather than the child’s information.

First Responders Camp

Do you want to learn about saving lives? Do you have an interest in learning more about firefighting, emergency medical services (EMS) or law enforcement? Firefighters, EMS providers and law enforcement professionals are our heroes, they are the first responders that work together to help save lives every day.  Join in on this interactive and educational 3-day experience.

One in a Minion Camp

In this fun-filled “Minion-themed” science adventure, kids will explore all kinds of science by creating their own scientific experiments in the areas of matter, cause and effect, and chemical reactions. Minion campers will also make their own version of the PX-41 serum (slime), but they won‘t come home purple! Snacks will be provided and campers will take a new experiment home every day.

Shark Week! and Creatures from the Sea

Does the ocean fascinate you? Do you love sharks, octopus, giant squids, killer whales, stingrays or even shrimp? Discover this amazing world of awesome sea creatures and so much more. Campers will spend the day at the Pittsburgh Zoo on Wednesday (transportation and entry zoo pass provided) and take in the scenic bird’s-eye view of the aquarium. Join us while we take a bite out of summer. Please bring bag lunch on 7/24 for field trip.

Summer Wings

Venture this summer for an awesome exploration in Aviation! You’ll get to: experiment with physics; “fly” a simulator; meet with crash, fire, and rescue experts; learn about weather and flying challenges; and build/fly planes. Your days will be filled with a newfound wonder of aviation. Bus trip to Air National Guard on Wed. from 9am-3pm. BONUS: Lunch provided on graduation day. If desired, parents can schedule a real 30-minute student flight for an additional $30 each (2 in a plane) or $60 (1 in a plane).

The Drone Challenge

Taught by Trish Foley, campers will learn drone technology basics, safety and social responsibilities before planning, shooting and editing video/photography created for storytelling and social media. Through clear instructions on basic flying maneuvers, the pilot/videographer will be challenged with real-world STEAM learning tasks. You will create and present your own drone shot visual stories to share. No prior experience necessary; all skill levels are welcome to participate.
