Networking

Degree Offered: Associate in Applied Science

Credits Required: 60/61 (2016-2017 Academic Year)

The Computer Networking curriculum prepares students with the skills necessary to design, implement, maintain, and administer LANs and WANs. The curriculum includes courses in software application tools, PC hardware, Cisco Networking Academy, network security, disaster recovery, wireless networking and operating systems, virtualization, installation and configuration. 

Graduates of this program may obtain employment as PC support specialists, network technicians, and network administrators.

Program Outcomes:

Graduates will be able to

 

  1. Design, implement, troubleshoot, and support small to medium-sized networks for small to medium-sized businesses.
  2. Exhibit technical proficiency in Local Area and Wide Area Networks, which include router and switch configurations, connectivity, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  3. Present a networking project that includes identification and implementation of security measures required to protect computer networks.
