6.05.001 - Employee Attendance

It is the expectation of the Board of Trustees that all College employees be in attendance during their regularly scheduled work time, that they are punctual in their attendance and that they comply with the spirit and intent of College policies and procedures addressing attendance and leave.  Within these expectations, it is acknowledged that employees will need access to leave from work for any number of possible reasons.

By action of the Board, approved leave categories are identified in the chart below.  Leave may be paid or unpaid dependent on the conditions of the leave category, and time away from work must be approved and recorded in a manner that protects the interests of both the institution and its employees.

The College President is charged with the development of procedures for implementation of this policy.  The procedures are to ensure compliance with relevant federal and state employment statutes, and where appropriate, to address the distinctions of employee classification.
