6.01.001 - Hiring and Equal Employment Opportunity

The Board of Trustees for the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is committed to the development of a highly professional and well-qualified faculty and staff. To that end, it is the policy of the Board that CCBC is an equal opportunity employer and shall prohibit discrimination and harassment of any type.  The College shall afford equal employment opportunities to employees and applicants, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, genetic information, or veteran status. CCBC will conform to the spirit as well as the letter of all applicable laws and regulations. CCBC shall take action to employ, advance in employment and treat qualified Vietnam era veterans and disabled veterans without discrimination in all employment practices.

Under direction of the President, the Director of Human Resources, or such successor positions as may be created, shall develop procedures and guidelines appropriate for implementation of this policy. The procedures are to define the requirements for physical examinations, criminal background checks, drug testing, personality inventory, and/or credit checks. The Director shall also ensure compliance with this policy and its implementing procedures in all personnel actions.
