Nursing (ADN)

Degree Offered: Associate in Applied Science
Credits Required: 70

CCBC's Nursing program offers two levels of education to match nursing students' professional goals. All selected applicants enter the program through one door, as nursing students. At the end of the first year, students select their preferred career path from two options: Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) to become a Registered Nurse, or Practical Nursing (PN) to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.

The nursing curriculum includes general education as well as nursing courses. Students will receive clinical laboratory experience in a variety of hospitals and health-related agencies in the Beaver and Lawrence County areas as part of each of the nursing courses. Audio-visual, interactive video and computer laboratory activities, demonstrations, skills practice in the college's nursing laboratory, and small group discussions supplement the nursing content.

This program is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and has full approval status from the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. The NLN Accrediting Commission, 61 Broadway, 33rd Floor, New York, New York 10006/Telephone: (212) 363-5555, is a source of information regarding tuition, fees, and length of nursing program.

Graduates of CCBC's ADN program are then eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam to become a Registered Nurse.
