| Beaver County Women's Conference 2010
Join us at 8 a.m. on March 13th for the 4th Annual Beaver County Women's Conference! This year's conference, which will be held at Ambridge Area High School, will feature KDKA TV News Anchor Jennifer Antkowiak (pictured right) as the keynote speaker and include workshops for women including subjects such as finance, politics, consumer advocacy, social networking and care-giving. Guests will be welcomed by Ms. Antkowiak who will be presenting TAKE CARE!: How to Take Care of Yourself While You’re Taking Care of Others. Ms. Antkowiak is the author of two books on care-giving, Take Care Tips, and Caring Questions, both released in 2009 by St. Lynn’s Press. As a wife, mother of five and step-mother to one, Jennifer knows first-hand about care-giving. Her knowledge of care-giving and how long-term illness affects a family expanded as she provided care for her husband’s parents, who battled cancer. In addition, she experienced the tragic loss of her own mother at a young age. Jennifer's experiences have fueled her passionate mission to help the world's caregivers. In 2006, Jennifer formed her own multi-media company geared to provide information to help make life easier for busy women and their families. She returned to KDKA in September 2009 as co-anchor of the morning newscasts. Besides her anchor duties, Jennifer presents reports and special programs that offer helpful information for families, employers and caregivers. The Beaver County Women’s Conference will also recognize STARS, women from Beaver County who have made significant contributions in the community. This year's STARS include Evelyn Adams, Brenda Applegate, Cynde Gleeson, Laraine Hicks, Paulette Miller, Eugenia Priest, Betty Sue Schaughency and Erica Wachtel. In addition to workshops, presentations and inspirational awards, a wide variety of vendors will be on hand for shopping as well as a pamper room with mini-massages and other special treats. Registration is $20 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. For vendor information, visit www.beaverwomen.wordpress.com or call Elaine Neill at 724-544-3277.
