Grant Information

To strengthen the business environment of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, WEDnetPA was developed to provide a training network responsive to employers' workforce development needs. This network is called The Guaranteed Free Training (GFT) Program.

The WEDnetPA-managed GFT Program offers two training programs. These programs give qualified in-state businesses and out-of-state companies relocating to the economic-friendly business climate of Pennsylvania the opportunity to train new and existing employees.

The first program, Basic Skills Training, provides instruction in a variety of basic and entry-level skills. Information Technology Training, the second program, provides instruction in a variety of information technology and advanced applied manufacturing subjects.

The keystone of the GFT program is its ability to be responsive to the needs of Pennsylvania's business community through a flexible and easy-to-use system. An important element of this system is that businesses determine their own training needs and can select among various WEDnetPA-approved training providers (the WEDnetPA partners, third-party providers or in-house staff) as well as delivery options (on-site, off-site or online).

Included in this partnership are Pennsylvania's 14 State System universities, Pennsylvania's 14 community colleges and other educational providers.

Each provider/WEDnetPA partner serves as the point of contact for businesses accessing Guaranteed Free Training (GFT) funds.  CCBC has been a Partner of the Workforce Economic Development Network since the program began in 1999 providing training to employees in areas such as Maintenance, MS Office, Human Behavioral and Professional Development, PLC, MCSE and more.
