New CCBC Student Receives Aliquippa Wolves Club Scholarship

On behalf of the Aliquippa Wolves Club, Community College of Beaver County announces Frankie DeRose as the 2012-2013 Aliquippa Wolves Club scholarship recipient.

Frankie graduated with honors from Hopewell High School in June. In addition to his academic success, Frankie participated in several sports during high school, including soccer, basketball and tennis. He was a three-year letterman in tennis and served as team captain during his senior year. Frankie works several part-time jobs in order to help save money for college. He also helps out at his family’s restaurant business.

Frankie will major in business administration at CCBC. After graduation, he plans to transfer to a four-year college or university to continue his education.  The scholarship will not only help fund Frankie’s education at CCBC but will also allow him to transfer with less student loan debt.

Aliquippa Wolves Club members created the scholarship in 2003 to help provide students in Hopewell, Aliquippa and Center with an education at CCBC. Their goal is to “make it more affordable for students to earn their degrees.” By providing funds to students like Frankie, the Aliquippa Wolves Club members are accomplishing their goal.
