CCBC HIRES NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR FOR SOUTHPOINTE LOCATION
Community College of Beaver County announces the hiring of Steve Morgan as Business Development Coordinator at CCBC’s Southpointe location in Washington County, PA.
Morgan holds a bachelor’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania and brings more than 15 years’ experience in economic development, including working at the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development headquarters in Harrisburg, PA.
He also served as regional and statewide director of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Action Team and executive director of the Allegheny County Department of Economic Development, where he worked to recruit and assist new and expanding businesses and aid in job creation. His goal is to do the same for Washington County.
“Washington County is experiencing tremendous economic and job growth, but we need to ensure that our workers are ready for the jobs becoming available, and that employers have access to world-class, customized training solutions to remain competitive and grow their businesses,” explains Morgan.
As a resident of North Strabane Township, Morgan sees first-hand the positive changes occurring in Washington County and knows the importance of partnering with local employers to create tailored job training programs to address the needs and improve the skills of their workforce.
“For over 28 years, Community College of Beaver County has worked with employers to provide professional, technical, certification, licensure and other customized workforce development and training programs to improve the productivity and capabilities of their workers,” says Morgan. He continues, “CCBC is committed to partnering with Washington County employers to address their workforce development needs and support their growth and success. My mission is to raise awareness of our expertise and services and our training facilities here at Southpointe.”
CCBC’s Washington County Center offers customized training programs tailored to individual businesses, industry groups and employment sectors, as well as a variety of open enrollment seminars, programs and courses to provide professional development and job training and retraining opportunities for individuals.
