CCBC BASKETBALL PLAYER SELECTED TO 2014 COACHES’ ALL-AMERICA TEAM BY NABC

Nehemiah Fisher, a sophomore basketball player at CCBC, was selected as a member of the 2014 Coaches’ All-America Basketball Team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Formed in 1927 and located in Kansas City, Missouri, the NABC works to further the best interests of the game of basketball as well as the players and coaches who participate in the sport.

CCBC Basketball Coach DeWayne Walker, President Dr. Christopher Reber and Athletic Director Steve Danik surprised Nehemiah with the award at an on-campus ceremony.

“It was very rewarding to see Nehemiah’s growth from a freshman player to now,” said CCBC basketball coach DeWayne Walker. “He has grown not only as a player, but as a person as well.”

Nehemiah completed the season with an average of 25.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per game and was ranked 5th in the country in scoring. Nehemiah noted he was “very honored” to receive the award and has plans to transfer to a 4-year institution after he completes his degree at CCBC. Nehemiah is from Pittsburgh but currently resides in Beaver.
