Marking the highest number of recipients since it was presented in the fall of 2010, the Barnes & Noble Book scholarship is awarded to eight current full-time Community College of Beaver County students.

The following students are the Spring 2012 Barnes & Noble Book scholarship recipients: Andrew Malone, a Nursing major from Beaver Falls, PA; Tyler William David Samorey, an Air Traffic Control major from Ambridge, PA; Ashlee Malone, a Nursing major from Beaver Falls, PA; Paul Carnemella, an Air Traffic Control major currently residing in Beaver, PA; Adrienne Wilmes, a Nursing major from New Castle, PA; Rayburn Mumbuna, a Liberal Arts/Natural Science major from Aliquippa, PA; Heather Sexton, an Air Traffic Control major from Seville, OH; and Robert Goodale, an Air Traffic Control major from Mattituck, NY.

Awarded through the CCBC Foundation, the Barnes & Noble Book scholarship fund gives assistance with books and fees outside of tuition and financial aid assistance. The scholarship is available to full-time students at the College who are in good-standing. The award amount varies and is determined by the CCBC Foundation.

“At Barnes & Noble, we believe that campus bookstores will play an important role in helping to shape the future of learning,” said Chris Peterson, Director of Stores for Barnes & Noble College.

With the recent endowment of $23,000 to the scholarship fund, Barnes & Noble continues to show their support of the College and our students.

“You have our promise that everything we do is anchored in our commitment to serve your needs as an institution of higher learning and to deliver an outstanding retail experience to CCBC and its students and faculty,” states Peterson.  He continues, “And, as part of that commitment, we have proudly endowed the first annual Barnes & Noble Scholarship fund, awarded to eight very worthy CCBC students.”
