Coleman Foundation Awards CCBC $9,000 Grant for Entrepreneurship Education Initiatives
In November 2011, CCBC's Continuing Education Department was awarded a $9,000 grant by the Coleman Foundation (Chicago, IL) to support a one-to-one mentoring program and venture capital fair for youth entrepreneurs. The Coleman Foundation is a longtime supporter of the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NAACE) and CCBC was one of 11 community colleges to receive a grant for program year 2012.
The College will use the grant monies to engage participating entrepreneurs to expand CCBC's successful youth SummerBiz Camp to include a yearlong mentoring program, a business incubator, and a Venture Capital Fair where students will present their business plans to potential investors, community members, and a panel of judges.
Get involved! For more information on becoming a panel judge, potential investor, or volunteer for this project, contact John Goberish by phone at 724-480-3450 or by email.
